The CAPCorp Impulsa 2016 Award to the national and international Private Equity Fund in Spain has been given to Portobello Capital, which has invested € 250m in seven Spanish companies during the last two years.
The award was collected by Íñigo Sánchez-Asián, the Founding Partner of the Spanish company who recalled the theme of Portobello Capital: «Building Industry Leaders» betting on companies such as Iberconsa, Sabater, IAN, Eysa, Vitalia, Laulagun or Trison.
Since 2015, Portobello has gained investor confidence by raising a primary fund of €375M and another vehicle of €420M to invest in the Secondary.
According to Sánchez-Asiaín «in just two years, the bank has contributed more than €300m to buy Spanish medium-sized companies worth more than €500M.»
Concerning to the preparation of a new vehicle, that will be the fourth for the Fund, the Founding Partner of Portobello explained that «we continue to see investment opportunities very attractive, so we will have to put the mechanisms in place when necessary to continue taking advantage of them.»
