{"id":12100,"date":"2017-04-25T10:24:07","date_gmt":"2017-04-25T10:24:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.portobellocapital.es\/?p=12100"},"modified":"2023-06-12T12:28:35","modified_gmt":"2023-06-12T10:28:35","slug":"portobello-capital-acquires-centauro-as-the-last-investment-of-its-fund-iii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portobellocapital.es\/en\/portobello-capital-acquires-centauro-as-the-last-investment-of-its-fund-iii\/","title":{"rendered":"Portobello Capital acquires Centauro"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Portobello Capital Acquires Centauro as the Last Investment of its Fund III<\/h1>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #d2c577;\">2017\/04\/25<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><strong>Spanish private equity firm Portobello Capital has acquired a majority stake in Centauro, a leading off-airport rent-a-car company in the Mediterranean and Portuguese coast.<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>April 25th, 2017<\/em><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nFounded in 1973 and headquartered in Benidorm, Centauro is one of the leading off-airport rent-a-car operators in Spain and Portugal with fifteen branches located in key tourism destinations such as Alicante, Mallorca, Ibiza, Barcelona, Murcia, M\u00e1laga, Seville, Madrid, Lisbon, Porto and Faro.<br \/>\nThe remaining shares will continue in the hands of the business\u2019 founders, the Devesa family. The current chief executive officer, Erik Devesa, whohas an extensive experience in the sector, will remain as CEO of Centauro.<br \/>\nCentauro manages a fleet of over 18,000 vehicles. In 2016, the company reached \u20ac66m and has budgeted \u20ac81m for 2017. Centauro works closely with relevant international automakers and focuses on the quality and price of its service.<br \/>\nThe strategy to follow along with Portobello Capital is to consolidate a fragmented sector and grow in new locations, mainly in Europe, significantly increasing its market share.<br \/>\n<strong>Luis Pe\u00f1arrocha,<\/strong> Partner at Portobello Capital, said: &#8220;We are very satisfied with this investment.
